Bugeye one of the suffix ewes had twin ewe lambs last night. They are good size lambs will probably be keeping them as replacement breeding stock, the sire is a suffix/hamp cross that we got from Holms in Heber. The goats have been having fun playing on the barrel in the field, they role the barrels all over the field, its funny when a goat in inside the barrel and the other ones role the barrel. Gave the goats probiotics paste a couple of them have the runs and I don't think it is from the goat pellets they have been on them for a while. Going to have to buy more hay with how dry the big field is this year(not irrigated), just hope it doesn't start on fire with the 4th of July this week and everyone in the surrounding neighborhood setting of fireworks. This years babies are growing good, MVA1 DORA is the biggest doeling we have had so far. Sent off paperwork to the ABGA to get the doelings and bucklings registered, will probably have a buckling and a couple doeling to sell in the MSMGA fall sell.
Well at the start of june we artificially inseminated five does. Hope it was a success, will be trying it on more of the doe in earl fall around august or first of september. We have brought home the doeling, Hightlights two bucklings and the wethers from the big field, the field is really dry with the lack of rain fall. We have started to work with the kids to get them ready for the show. We have been putting the doelings and buckings on the Sydell show rack, some of them really hate it, but giving them animal crackers and grape leaves seems to help (who doesn't like treats!!). The MSMGA is going to have a auction this fall, the date has not been set yet.
